Mend Kenwood DP-492 Cd Tray Player

How can I fix the cd tray on a Kenwood DP 492 player?

The cd tray gets stuck after a period of non-use. Usually a couple of days. When I push the button, I have to use a thin object to pry out the tray. Sometimes the tray won't go back in either and I have to push it back in. Once I play a few cd's it works fine. I would like to have this work correctly, can someone help me?

Have you tried opening+closing many times to see if that frees it up. If not, then it might require some light lubrication on its moving parts. Use a artist paint brush and light oil (sewing machine oil?) and touch sparingly on the relevant areas..If you have to remove the unit from the dashboard , make sure that you have the security code (if it needs one) ...Good luck
