Mend Dirt Devil Vacuum Suction Motor

how can I restore suction on Dirt Devil upright?

The motor of my Dirt Devil upright vacuum works fine as do the brushes. However, instead of any vacuum effect, the machine blows out. I've checked all the hose connections in the machine down to the motor and found no obstruction.
