How Can I fix fault on Rangemaster Toledo 90 dual fuel cooker?

Fault diagnosis for Rangemaster Toledo 90 Dual Fuel?

My oven developed this problem litterally over night :

Gas rings work fine and starter works fine.

The electric oven worked but wouldn't get hot and the grill would come on but not get hot.

When either the electric oven or grill were switched on the main clock/timer display would dim , also some of the switch lights would come on and off , oh for good measure I started to get the odd shock off the oven when I touched the main wall power switch (has a metal surround) !!

Two weeks after develping this fault the oven does not come on at all now, neither does the grill, the display still dimmers when either grill or oven is switched on.

I have spoken to two engineer who said it sounds like the clock/timer unit that needs replacing and that a faulty unit would cause these symptons , they didn't say it would casue the shocks that I've been getting.

I have also been advised by an electrician that the faults combined with the shocks I've been getting suggest a power supply issue , bad earth /connections to oven or from wall socket , I've checked wall socket connections and they seem ok.

Anyone have any advice ? If I can find the clock timer unit i can replace but don't want to rick replacing a part that I'm 100% sure if causing the problems.

Cheers

Rangemaster Professional 90 DF Chrome, the grill light & elements are working, the main oven & side oven light does not come on & there is no kick in for the fans, so there are not coming on at all.
I had a fire at the grill a few weeks ago, I have sorted that & as I say the grill still works but the ovens do not, can you please advise.
Many Thanks

If you are getting shocks off an appliance you should switch it off immediately and have it PAT tested (portable appliance test) which will automatically check for a number of faults and tell you whether it passes or fails. If it fails it will tell you what it fails on. Any competent electrician will have a PAT tester or access to one and a monkey could use it! The industry standard testers are made by Seaward.
If the failure is caused by a live conductor coming into contact with your appliances structure it should trip the circuit breaker, blow a fuse or trip an RCD, these are all protection devices to prevent fire on a circuit to which a faulty appliance has been connected.
You will need to disconnect parts of the appliance and re test to see when the fault disappears, thn you will have found the culprit...
