I think the filter is clogged up as I washed a very fluffy blanket yesterday!
How can I get at the filter to unclog it?

Thanks to this site I managed to sort out our machine. I took off the back of the washing machine with a crosshead screwdriver. You then need to get a pair of pliers to squeeze the spring clip together to enable you to remove the black rubber hose where the filter sits. Having done this we found to our amazement one sock, one pound coin, 2 5pences and a curtain hook. After removing these the machine works wonders.

You have to take off the back of the washing machine. It's a right pain, my washing machine filter regularly gets blocked with small socks!!! Also expect a flood if the washing machine is full of water.
