how can i fix my diplomat gas hob adp1180?

The 4 plates on my diplopmat ADP1180 gas hob keep sparking when turned on at the mains! Have tried cleaning and drying it thoroughly with a hairdryer but without success. Can anyone please help me????

It sounds like you have an electrical short to the spark generator on your hob.

Check the plug on the hob to check it is wired correctly. If it is wired correctly then trying plugging it into a new socket to see if it still carrys your fuse.
Again if this fails then it more than likely a problem with the spark genertor. The easy answer then is to unplug it and use a match etc to light your hob.
