Mend Hotpoint CDT00 Drum Noise Tumble

Hotpoint CDT00 Stops spinning?

Hi
My dryer when started, makes a grininding noise and does not spin.However once i give the drum a push start it seems to work untill the drum turns the opposite direction and stops!? Any suggestions?

PS;it dnt satrt automatcially and needs a push but stops in brief
