Using house ring main as aerial circuit?

Although we live within 1 mile of both BBC and ITV transmitters, our TV reception upstairs (not connected to the roof aerial) is pretty poor and requires the aerials to be rotated for literally each channel change.

TV coaxial cable uses 2 wires. My House ring main has at each mains socket, 2 unpowered terminals.

Mains electrics has of course to be treated with great respect and I have previously completed various ring main projects. Continuing the principal of great care, my proposal is to connect the external aerial (via an 2 into 1 adaptor) and coaxial cable to
the 2 unpowered terminals at a mains socket. This would create
an unpowered TV aerial circuit throughout the house.

My recollection is that commercial and domestic ring mains have been sucessfully used for both networking computers and remote printing.

What I need to know is whether a safe but simple system as described would suffer from interference.

As you live so close to the transmitters, the reason for a poor quality reception could be that the signal you are receiving is too strong. the nearer the transmitter you are the smaller the aerial you need. Also check that your tv is tuned into the nearest transmitter.
