just purchased vw sharan auto seems to have problems when changing from 3rd to 4th gears its as though it dosn't want to could it be oil if so where abouts do i put it
This is not an oil problem as it would affect all the other gears. Four speed VW box or five speed Jatco fitted to later models. If it is the 5 speed the drum has got a hairline crack in it and will get worse as it warms up. Catch it early enough so no debris is made and it can be fixed without removing box. The filter can only be changed with box out so do not drive to destruction. The 4 speed unit probably needs a rebuild. Internet diagnosis is not the best. Check out www.fedauto.co.uk

Don't try it yourself,auto's are topped up with the engine running at a certain rev range,you will overfill it and cause damage.Go to a garage.Be warned!

if anything like my nissan you can only fill it via the oil dip stick on the gear box
