97 Passat... Rear door jammed?

Hi... I'm having an awful job figuring out how to open my rear door. I have central locking without the key-fob. What i do know is that before it jammed the door would sometimes, on occasion jam from the outside, leaving me to open it from the inside, me being stubborn 'n all, left it until its to late, now however, i can't open it from the inside or the outside. If there is anyone who has had a similar issue or who knows their way around this... then your help will be most appreciated as the garages around here tend to replace parts that didn't need replacing and my budget isn't good at best. Thank you !
