error code CL appears and machine no longer works?

CL stands for child lock is on which disables all the control buttons. Like so many people who ask questions on here you have not told us what make or model machine you are asking about. Read your owner's book or Google online to find out how to take off the child lock. Usually one or two buttons on the panel will have CL or child lock or a picture of a lock next to them. Press & hold for a few seconds to see if the CL disappears.
