Mend Proline TDC6A T Condenser Back

Can’t get condenser back in?

Hi,I have a proline TDC6A tumble dryer, took the condenser unit out to clean it and now it won’t go back in fully to be able to close the door. Cannot feel it catching on anything. Did the same things a few months ago and after several days it just went back in ok, but this time no joy. Any ideas welcomed pleased....don’t really want to have to get a new one.

Hi Rupert,
Thank you for your trouble and for all your ideas and help. We have literally tried everything and nothing works. It happened a few months ago and then One day it just went back in!? After several days of trying. Hadn’t taken it out again since as didn’t want to risk it and then last week I mistakenly went to pull it thinking it was the water and only pulled it a few mils and hey ho it happened again and now we can’t get it back in again!? We had to order a new one as can’t be without this time of year, but it won’t be here for a couple of weeks, so I’ll keep trying. But thanks again for taking the time to reply. Best wishes Maxine x

Hi Rupert, thank you for your reply, I have felt around everywhere inside and can’t feel anything. It just seems to stick for the last 5mm?

Another thought, and I'm clutching at straws here... Is it at all possible that your condenser unit is upside down? Don't know if that would make a difference?
Is the opening in the machine distorted or is the front panel is dented near the opening?
Would love to know if you manage to sort the problem and what it was!
Good luck

Once again, just a rough guess again as I'm not familiar with your exact model..
Now we've ruled out a foreign object in the slot, next step would be to check the condenser you are trying to slide in. Take a close look all round it to see if all the plastic moulded parts are all full clipped together and there are no gaps or obvious sign of damage.
This may not apply to your condenser, but I've seen issues with washing machine detergent drawers that have a little plastic spur that clips into a latch inside the machine. The purpose of this is to simply hold the drawer closed when the machine wobbles on spin cycle. Does your condenser have a latch or spur at the bach that locates into a catch inside? If so, this could be slightly bent out of shape and a gentle adustment could get it to line up with the catch again and allow it to be pushed that extra 5mm as it latches in place.
Just a guess without seeing exact parts, but fingers crossed!

I'm not familiar with your machine so can't offer a definitive answer, but maybe this is an issue casued by a foreign object stuck in the slot. Have you tried shining a torch into the slot to see if there is something there?
