If a virus has already broken through your defences, then you can try any type of Anti-Virus program! Nothing will give you anything to cheer. The best way is to format your system through a clean bootable CD and re-install all your softwares.

You must remember, that a Windows become more and more unstable with each passing day (as nearly all entries of programs installed and removed are kept in Registeries and other files which makes system more and more vulnerable). So consider it as a rule of thumb to format your system once a year to keep it running fast!

My Documents opens at startup.
There are two possible causes for this.
1) Explorer runs automatically at boot up. or
2) You have a corrupt file in registry.
Ok, let's look at Explorer, the easiest one first.
Do the following: Click Start, Click Run, then type msconfig then click ok.
When the dialog box opens, select the start tab. This will show you all the things that start automatically each time you boot. Look for explorer.exe and if it is there, make sure it is unchecked. Click apply then click ok.
Restart your computer a dialog will open that tells you that your startup has changed, just check the box and click ok. If this does not fix the problem you'll have to look in registry for a corrupted file.

Do the following: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN EDITING REGISTRY. IT IS WISE TO MAKE A BACK UP FIRST. YOU CAN CAUSE REAL PROBLEMS HERE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING.

Click start run type regedit then click ok.

Navigate to this key:
HKEY_ LOCAL_ MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion Winlogon

Click on Winlogon. In the right pane, find the value Userinit
This value should read: C:WINDOWSsystem32userinit.exe, (The comma at the end must be present)

If the value is not the same as I have mentioned, Right Click on the Userinit value. click Modify. Type in the value C:WINDOWSsystem32userinit.exe, in the dialogue box then click OK. This website does not allow oblique strokes or slash marks. Do not change these when editing this registry value.

Exit from registry and restart your computer.
