how can I rewire my Dyson dc04?

One of your previous correspondents gave me the answer. I would add: insert small screwdriver from above between yellow button switch and housing "on the flat inner side of the button and lever up". Reveal screw head and remove screw and switch housing can be puuled upwards.

Hi, mine broke here too, I just repaired the wire by soldering back together, then insulating with het shrink. Otherwise you can buy a new/used switch complete with cable.

The trickiest thing was removing the switch, I bought a "tool" from ebay for about £3 in fact all it was just a bent screwdriver, but it did have insructions. But I guess you have managed that bit already.
