I own a TIMEX IRONMAN TRIATHALON. My strap broke too. 18 Months of use and that was it. The watch is still in good working shape, but the straps were junk. They broke in 2 places.

You can't beat T.G service center. If they repair your watch and it costs more than 50% retail of a new watch they send you a new watch for 50% retail. Can't beat that!

The TG Service Center is a good place to call. Their number is 1-800-448-4639. I have a Model 529 that hooks up to a GPS and heart rate monitor, so replacing the whole setup ($300) for a broken band was not a good option. I called the service center and they are sending me a new band for $8.00.

Opps! that's TG Service Center, not TC Service Center. Sorry (from the previous post)

Mine broke too. All I did was send it to TC Service Center, P.O. Box 8009, Little Rock AR 72203 with a check for $10.00 for band replacement and I got a replacement watch back. Same type, just no scratches and a new band! My solution to the band issue is to have two of them and when one breaks, I send it in and wear the other one. And for $10.00, you basically get a new watch, new battery and a new band in all. (I know these are cheap watches, but they do the stuff that I want. Timers, stop watch, alarms, etc.)

The type I have is a molded rubber strap (the kind without the pin) and you cannot replace it. I have been through 2. The watch is great, the strap is useless. You have to send it to Timex. More cost effective to buy another watch but what a waste!

Am just looking through the internet to try and get a strap for my ironman watch which has just snapped!
It's about 18 months old and just changed the battery last week!!
It's the third ironman I have had that the strap broke. The straps really seem to be of very bad quality.

I have same problem, second time in a year. Watch is fine, strap is weak. Must send it in and they send new one, I need a watch now. That is it for me and Timex. I beat watches up it seems, so I suppose I should not go cheap.

I have the same problem with my Ironman watch... this is the third one that broke. I called timex yesterday and they said send it in for a cost of 17.00 they can put a new strap on it. They also said that they have not heard of any problems.. Go figure...

Open garbage and toss. My Ironman strap just broke and due to its design and cost ... it is economically un-repairable. Lesson learned.

Buy a new strap from www.watchbattery.co.uk they sell a popular range of Timex straps for only £9.99 each! I've resurrected a couple of my Timex watches by getting new batteries and straps from them.

Is it the strap thats broken or the watch casing?
Is it plastic strap model or plastic and metal strap?
I had the plastic and metal strap model and when it eventually gave out i went to an outdoor shop and bought a velcro type strap and they work beautifully.
