brother mfc-3420c is displaying machine error 41?

I have the same error and my solution is just unplugging it then plugging it back in. It works but i have to do it frequently. My printer works fine so I don't understand why it would be the print head.

I have the same problem. I called Brother, which gave me a number to a repair center. The repair center said that error code 41 is the printer head. It is cloged with ink, and their is no solution, but to replace the printer head. Cost $65.00. I will try to see if I can fix it myself by soaking it in warm water, or alcohol, or maybe checking the web for a cheaper price for a printer head. This is probably why Brother wants you to use their ink, I told him I did, I just don't use it frequently. So make sure you print a page periodically to keep the ink from drying up. If anyone finds new info. for this situation, please post.
