are you giving the pilot enought time to heat up the flame failue device? (around a minute) if you are then the FFD will be duff. this is like a metal rod that goes into the pilot flame it is easy to change but I don't know if you can get hold of one if your not Corgie registered you could try B&Q they used to sell universal ffd's
