Sat Nav TomTom won't switch on?

I've got a Tom Tom xl n14644 won't switch back on

dont go spending till you have tried the reset button and the back of the sat nav. Where the sat nav sits on the doc, look very close and you will find a reset, you will need either a pin or a paper clip that should solve your problem, Tom Tom 710 does freeze up regular but you can solve your problem by doing this 1st. I had the same problem. Hope this helps

I had the same problem and solved it by removing the memory card then the Tom Tom switched on and requested the memory card.

Fantastic bit of advice, mine stopped working today and wouldn't switch on. A search on the net turned up this page, followed the instructions and bang working again, saved me a packet sending it back to a shop to get fixed for all they'd do, they'd just use the soft-reset and probably charge £50 - £60.

I recently had the same problem which was very easily resolved by resetting it with a paper clip into the small hole at the base and holding pressure on it for 15 seconds. I hope this helps you.

if you go to tom tom web site and i think its the suport section and you have to reset the device it gives you full instructions anyway.

i dont know about a tom tom but i have a sony sat nav & that has two on / off buttons one at the top ( normal on/off ) and one at the bottom that shuts the whole thing off all together it may be wotrh looking for another switch at the bottom, hope this helps
