Just moved house, neighbours downpipe has been bent onto my flat roof?

I had a very similar or even probably worse situation. My neighbours downpipe was sunk into my garden leading to a soak away, again in my garden!!! Solution to get rid? Make extremely good friends of said neighbours, and come to a resultion that is ammicable to both parties involved, to the point of sharing good portions of the cost. We even we're amicable about them bricking up windows that were on our mutual boundary line looking straight into my space! So there is always hope if both parties can be realistic, adult and appriciate, what if the shoe was on the other foot! Love and peace to all..

Look I went through this vary thing a few years ago when I purchased a temament building in the city of chicago ILL: as you state the down spout from the neighbors building was laying atop my flat roof and I had to replace my guter with an enormous one in order to catch all the water coming off the roof. until one day the building inspector told my neighbot he'd have to fix his down spout so it wouldn't be emptying into mine. so you can tell your neighbor to fix his /her down spout because it's the right thing to do for your self respect.

attempt to resolve it amicably with the neighbour.
otherwise discuss it with your Local Planning department (Building Inspector) as they should have agreed to the removal of water system
