Had a new roof in 2006 and always heard a faint dripping after constant rain but could never locate a leak. The whole loft has been checked and it appears to originate in the enclosed space between the two valleys of the roof. For the past year a small yellow patch has spread on the ceiling and down the walls. This is consistent with the positioning of the valley gutter. I have heard that a liquid filler would do the job. How do i do this please?
two valleys meeting at the bottom seem to be a problem to some cowboys. any water ingress collected on the felt on the area between the two valleys will accumulate at the bottom of the 'v'. over the years when we have corrected these complaints it tends to be either the wooden laths have been to tight against the valley board damaging the sarkin felt or the roofer has poorly fixed the laths, puncturing the sarkin felt right at the edge where water flows. sounds like the tiles/slates need lifting just at the base by the valley to see whichit may or may not be?

If you had a new roof in 2006 I would have thought it would include replacing the valley zinc/lead.
I would also assume at least a 5 if not 10yr guarantee on it. Contact the firm who did the job and tell them.

Don't use an expanding foam sealant - it will lift the tiles off. Feel under the tiles where they exit onto the valley and see if the cement fillet is still there, and that there is no debris in the valley preventing water from draining away.
