The neck of my guitar is separating from the main part of the guitar?

Probably a bit late now, but it's often worth getting your instruments separately insured, rather than leaving it on just your household policy.

I had a problem with my guitar neck, and the excess on my home was £250! I managed to get it fixed for under £150. Turns out you can get insurance for about £25 a year with no excess, which isn't bad, especially if you add up the cost of the glue, your time, and the hassle!

Hey Bob O: I recently had that same exact problem with my flat top. Here is just about the only fix for this.
get yourself some yellow carpenters glue and two bungie cords. pry the neck apart just enough to get a good amount of glue into the crack and then attach the bunmgie cords to to the upper tunning keys and then streach the cords so they will fasten to the sound hole. leve the glue set over night and that will fix your problem.

Depends on the type of guitar - and therefore the type of neck joint. If you've got a good spanish or acoustic, it's worth checking with the manufacturer as they may specify something.
Having said that, I've used a 2 part epoxy (araldite) or similar with a lot of success: good strong joint that is also dense enough not to interfere with intonation.
