why does my dyson dco7 keep cutting out after little use?

I have dyson animal upright no loss of suction but just cut out it wasnt over heating just felt warm as would normally cleaned all filters checked out cyclone for blockages all hoses clear but still cuts out after 15 mins.
was told could be cabl;e problem .
but just waiting to see if anyone can advise on here

i had the same problem with my dc07 cutting out after getting very hot and was initially advised ny a repair shop that it was the motor. anyway rang dyson and they advised that it could be a problem with the cyclone and that they would send me one out free of charge along with a new sponge filter.
i decided to take a look inside the cyclone itself anyway and removed the three screws that hold the handle one to the cyclone itself and was amazed to find that it was blocked solid with compressed dust and cr*p.
cleaned it all out over the dustbin and refitted it all back together .
hey presto!!! no more overheating and it sounds much better but performance still bad as it now has a split internal hose but dyson are sending one out free of charge along with all the other gubbins
well done dyson your customer service is bob on !!!!

my dco7 keeps cuting out as well after 15 mins as well ihave cleaned all the pips and the filters and it still cuts out on me can some one please please help me THANKS.

Same happened to my DC07 Animal. I removed the cylinder itself then cleaned the cylone inners with some washing up liquid and a jet washer which literally shoot the dirt out of it. KEEP THE MAIN PART OF THE MACHINE AWAY FROM WATER. remember your only washing the cylinder and its inner cylone thingy. then I washed the washable filter with water only . Dyson recomend you then leave the sponge near a heated radiator for 1 hours. let it dry and replace the filter. I also removed the hepa filter I think thats what they call it , the one on top of the motor, then shook and blew all the dirt from it AS YOU CANNOT WASH THIS PART IN WATER. then i replaced all the bits back to thier respective places switched it on. I done this 3 days ago on my machine as it was stopping after 5 mins. Luckily its still working and i've used it 3 times since for approx 15 mins at a time and its still going strong. The reason why its cuts out is most probably the filters need clearing or check all your pipes. If this is left its will creat more heat and eventually trip out the thermal switch.
Anyway it worked with me......so good luck.

See hints elsewhere on this website concerning unblocking filters and cyclones. If that does not work then I have got the motor out of mine and have a new one on order. When I have fitted it and it works I will put full instructions on here - here's hoping
