The manufacturer and the person who sold you the item, won’t have told you that it has a built-in design fault! If you eject a DVD from its slot but do not remove it immediately, and then turn the TV off, the disc will sucked back into the player. This results in the disc becoming jammed in the player, as power to the drive mechanism is switched off before the disc is fully loaded.

I had the exact same fault with 2 separate units. After much complaint I was able to get a full refund from Comet, who were keen to exchange my TV for a refurbished one complete with built-in design fault! Comet is now also having to pay to replace 2 lost DVD's!

The manufacturer is aware of this fault and has NO plans to rectify it, preferring instead to sell poorly designed inherently defective items. I was given the information regarding the fault, and the manufacturer’s position by the UK approved repairer of Dmtech products, Viewtech ltd.

Incidentally, I was also given by Viewtech staff the Engineers Manual Ejection Procedure for this fault. I have not tried it myself, but allegedly this action will eject a jammed disc, so if you have this problem please try it before embarking on the treacherous quest for after-sales satisfaction!

Turn unit on. Using the remote, press 7, 7, right arrow button →, followed by the Open/Close eject button.

Hi, I hope you do not think me too cheeky but I have exactly the same problem with mine and it is very annoying. Did you manage to repair yours? Thank you.
