fuel pump?

after breaking down i was told the fuel pump had gone is there anything i could check first ei relays etc and where would i find them? on a Vauxhall cavalier m reg

Need to mend your Vauxhall Cavalier car?

If you can use a multimeter just check for voltage at the pump. If no volts, electrical problem. If volts, pump problem. Try putting a feed directly to the pump. If you dont have the skills to do this leave it alone. vaux November 2009

i think the fuel pump relay is in the drivers footwell behind the right hand kick panel.

Hi, about a month or so ago my cav started playing up by stalling, (thinking this was a carb prob) so i gave it a good clean) vacuum hose snapped(temporary fix of flexible tubing, seems to do the trick) takes severals attemts before starting up in mornings then go for a 5 min drive then it bogs down...

my dads got a m reg vauxhall cavalier 1.8...it recently had a new alternator fitted and now the engine managment light is on along with the airbag light..it also idles at higher revs than before and occasionally it revs really high and the engine has to be turned off to bring them down...does anyone...
