Canon 500n making funny noise non-stop?

How do I fix my canon 500n camera? Its making a funny whirring noise, the noise is there the whole time while the batteries are in place. It won't go any more and the noise sounds like it is coming from the end where the film normally sits, I think it may have something to do with the film winder...?
