why doesnt my kleenmaid dishwasher wash the dishes properly?

I am sick of trying get my kleenmaid (super silent system DW5dishwasher to wash the dishes better that I can in the sink. Its a joke it is only 6 years old or 7 and I have run a descaling powder through it as advised but on most cycles it does not completely drain out the bottom and the dishes are dirty and not rinsed properly and the indicator never goes to the end of the drying gage and I have to put it on O for it to return before I started a new cycle. The eco cycle are a waste of space. I have the connector under the sink with an s bend as indicated to drain but it still doesnt on every cycle. I waste so much water with it its ridiculous. To get a repair guy out is so expensive its not funny. I cleaned filters and made sure the arms arent blocked. The finish powder isnt much chop. What should I do to fix the problem? Sue

I just want to thank Peccavi for helpingme clean out the crap in the impeller pump of my kleenmaid. I was surprised at the rubbish actually caught in there. Cheers and thanks heaps again. Sue

We get about 8½ years useful life from our big domestic appliances - I am not an expert in dishwashers or anything else but...

The inner filters eventually fall apart over time and debris gets down into the drain pump impeller fouling it - on some machines you can clear this out by hand (tweezers) by looking for a single Torx screw right at the bottom of the sump (inside) and removing the cover of the impeller.

Make sure you regularly top up with salt and rinse aid (avoid the multi-tabs).

Any dirt on the crocks can only be dirt from the dishes you put in so it helps a bit to rinse off any big food deposits before loading.

Rinsing is done with the water already in the machine and it will often have broken down bits of food debris in it - Rinse Aid is intended to allow the rinse water to drain off rather than form droplets on the crocks - it breaks down the surface tension I suppose. If droplets remain on the dishes the drying cycle will bake on hard any remaining bits of crud so a good quality rinse aid is essential.

Good luck...
