How can I clean the inside of the glass on my Epson Perfection V200 Photo ?

There are some marks and dust on the underside of the scanning glass plate on my Epson Perfection V200 Photo scanner.
I have tried to open it, but unscrewing the two crosshead screws by the lid hinge only loosens the body of the scanner. Can anyone help on how to open it up to get to the glass before I begin to apply more and more force to it please?

I know this is an old question but I wanted to close the loop. Opened a V100 scanner using this technique and yes, it does require more force at the controls end. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry the plastic apart, just keep working a bit at a time and it WILL come apart.

OK - take out two crosshead screws on the hinge side. open it up a couple of centimetres. insert a knife blade on the opposite side (at end away from controls) up into the top section to pull it away - it comes quite easily and does not damage the plastic. reinsert the knife at the control end to pull the top outwards (needs a little more force) and then the whole thing comes open. it just clicks back together again and reinsert the screws.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I have already tried that and the answer was "It is a sealed system, contact your local Epson Service Centre". Obviously the unit is not 'sealed' enough to stop lots of dust entering.
