bissell proheat doesn't dispense water for more than 10 seconds?

I have had my bissel proheat clearview for about 2 years and have had numerous problems. Now, it only dispenses soap/water for about 10 seconds before stoppping both in the unit and in the wand. however it will still suck water. I have tried everything from replacing o- rings in the soap plunger to a new water pump and it still won't work. When you take the housing off and watch the whole process, You can see that air bubbles are getting trapped in the lines by the soap dispenser. If you shut off the machine for a few seconds and wait for the air to decrease, it will work again until the line fills with air again. problem #2 The brush does not work very well in the center. It leaves a spot right in the center of the carpet that remains dirty. Almost as if the brush never touched the carpet at all. It is a new brush installed a few months ago. Does anyone have any idea what these problems could be?

Yet another no water problem. My Vax lasted me for years, the Bissell I have had for three, and it is the second time it has developed this fault

I found that the problem is in the vacuum bleed system. Its a good idea but it sucks. i cleaned out all the lines cleaned out the heater and re routed all the hoses bypassed the soap dispenser and blocked off one of the spray nozzles to give it the best chance of at least cleaning half of the width. When the cover is off and there is no pressure on the vacuum the thing sprays just fine. As soon as the jug is dropped on top and the pitch of the vac changes and the water stops after a couple seconds. Im tempted to replace the water pump with an aftermarket electric one and wire it in. This might fix the problems. The issue is the pump there is a float that seals off the intake when it has enough water in it also there is a seal inside the pump that consists of a plastic bushing and guess what! it sucks air!! yea a belt driven pump gives you great power yea but it puts alot of stress on very cheap components!

If you have hard water the heater element will have alot of scale inside it and it will clog the hole in the heater. try to blow thru it and see if air will pass thru

...same issue....no water coming out....I have taken it apart, no luck...I think it will rest in piece at the dump......will never buy one again. The Bissell company will realize it after a few years, when their sales continue to go down.

The problem I referred to in my earlier post turned out to be flakes of paint from inside the heater block that had ended up in the tip of the red clip-in nozzles over the brushes. I unclipped the nozzles, pulled them off the pipe-ends and blew air backwards through them. A lot of black gunge came out. To test them I put the nozzles back on, submerged them in water and blew through the pipe that connects the two. A healthy stream of bubbles emerged. The machine now works. I also scrubbed the channels in the heater block to remove suds and loose paint.

I am having the same problem with a reconditioned Pro-Heat machine. The soap is getting as far as the heater in the centre of the base.

There is a lot of movement in the inlet pipe but not much in the outlet pipe to the nozzles. I have removed the part and blown into the outlet pipe. Some foamy liquid did exit along with some coagulated soap. I have still to refit it and try again from a safe distance. I had noticed some coagulated soap floating in the pipe. I'll feed back if I have any luck.
I was advised by a Bissell repair agent not to buy it :(. I have to say that it does a good job when it does work or is assisted by a watering can of hot water!

Oh dear we bought our ProHeat2X a little over 2 years ago... Carpets get cleaned once a year. We have family coming up this weekend and guess what our Pro Heat of Scrap is dispensing the soap but not the clean water...consequently this Bissel does not dispense the clean water....At £340 two years ago suppose to be the best on the market I would not reccommend this ProHeat to anyone......

Just got my Bissell Pro Heat X2 out as have dropped something on the carpet, and again it does not work. The water is not dispensing onto the carpet from the bladder, this happened last time I used it about a year ago, it was under guarantee then, but apparently not now guaranteed as only 3 months guarantee after repair, well I only clean my carpets about once a year, so that's no good. What a load of junk an definitely not fit for purpose.

remove solution tank and see if red gasket is on it... if it is not it will be stuck in the hole where it sits... take a pair of needle nose plyers and pull it out.. slip it onto the solution tank near the cap and see if that works...

Hoover are not any better. They should be making metal parts instead of plastic. Wouldn't it be great if you made a product a 5 year money back or replace for new one.

Unfortunately we can not help you as we do not have sufficient experience with our pro heat For the 2 years we have owned it as it spends most of its life in the hands of couriers shipping it to and fro to be repaired. The courier is now like an adopted son as he spends so much time at our home collecting and delivering numerous replacement and repaired machines.

I kept water in the soap while testing. everything was correct. Even the plunger is correct, I spoke with the shop and he explained to me there is only one correct way to install the soap plunger which I did. I have spent just as much money repairing this machine as I paid for it 2 years ago. It has too many complicated parts that go wrong. I got tired of buying expensive parts for this machine and finally broke down and bought a hoover like the Bissel repair man suggested. He said out of about every 10 repairs around 8 are bissel proheats. That the company seems to know they are a pile of junk, they built them to last only about 2 years, but they make so much money off part replacement, they don't change the design. Most moving parts are plastic on plastic like the brush. Didn't Bissel realize moving parts will get hot and melt? That's pretty bad when their own tech's tell me not to waste time and money with it. The hoover agility I bought is the difference between night and day. I won't even waste my time repairing that other piece of junk. When your bissel fails...buy a hoover!

You must make sure that there is some kind of liquid in the dispenser bottle at all times. This doesn't have to be soap. You can fill it with water, Also you must insure that the tube in the bottle is installed and pointing up into the highest corner of the bottle. This provides pressure on top of the liquid so no air may intrude into the fluid line. There is also a plunger just under the fluid flow control knob that must be installed correctly or air will get into the lines. There are different styles of brushes you can get. My old brush did the same thing that you describe. My new one has 5 rows of bristles all the way across the roller. Not 2 rows with a gap in the middle. This is probably the cause of the line.

Hope this helps.

nope, not the problem. We flushed all the lines and found no clogs. That was the first thing we did. somehow air is getting inside one of the main hoses by the soap dispenser, but I can't figure out why because there is no cracks, etc. nor is there water leaking anywhere. I'll probably just have to break down and take it to the shop.

the lines are clogged that dispense water and solution. I took it to an appliance shop for $25, it works like new!
