My HP Pavilion tx 1000 won't do anything??

Hi,

For some reason my hp pavilion tx 1000 won't do anything?? I turned it on. The startup repair box came up. then finished. so i had to restart it. now when i turn it on. its just a black blank screen??? The lights are on?? but not doing anything?? can someone please help as i live away from home in the navy and my laptop is my only point of communication??
