waste king gourmet 1025 help???

I had same problem, and it was easily cured when i managed to move it about 1/4 of an inch, then that must have freed what was jamming it, and it is now working as good as before

This won't always be the case but I had the same problem and managed to fix it fairly easily. I cleared as much waste from inside the unit, flushed it through, then manually span the inside with a pair of pliers. I then powered it up and it worked fine. It doesn't take much to jam the unit, mine had a small piece of glass jammed inside. Also if they sit for a few weeks they can sieze but just need manually spinning to release them.

I fitted a trap after the disposal unit which keeps blocking when grinding up uncooked waste,should i remove the trap and let it run away there is a good fall on the pipework

If there is not an obvious jamming cause, the top bearing has probably seized through water ingress past a degraded seal. The 19x32x7mm seal is a standard component from specialist factors, but the repair of the upper shaft and the bearing top hat requires time, skill, ingenuity, and a metal-turning lathe. I speak from experience of reconditioning my 1025. Unless he fulfils these criteria, he would be advised to replace it with a new machine. A professional repair would be uneconomic.
