I have a concrete flat roof covered in felt that over the years has been painted over with black bitumen,some of the roofing felt has now come off. would it be alright to just paint the whole lot with a thick bitumen coating instead of refelting (bearing in mind that the roof is not leaking also we are going to put the house up for sale so do not want to spend a lot of money on repair,this roof is not part of the main house but on an outbuilding).
flat roofs in the uk always leak,they are ment for hot climents,not the uk,the tar and felt break down and you get leaks,sooner or later,why a lot of councils replace them on their social housing with pitched roofs

An arsole sold me my bungalow without mentioning the garage roof leaked like a sieve so I'm hardly likely to tell you how to effect a cheap bodge am I. Just thought you'd want to know and probably why you've had no replies.
