my dualit toaster wont stay down?

My dualit toaster wont stay down when I put the bread in and push lever down ...it just pops straight back up.

Hmmm, sorry to point out the obvious but have you tried plugging it in and making sure it is switched on? If so, check the power indication light on the toaster - is it illuminated? If it is not - check/replace the fuse. Other than that, check your guarantee, I think Dualit toasters come with a two-year warranty - mine did.
