Hi, first put you ear to the speaker/s on tv because it could still be a noisy amplifier even when the sound is muted. Also make sure the tv isn't arcing internaly, this is very unsafe and can cause fire, check for burning smell at the back of the tv. I have seen this before usually in older tvs. Hope this helps.
