Citroen Berlingo Multispace – Electrical Problems?

Can anyone help or have you experienced a similar problem?

I parked my 3 months old petrol Citroen Berlingo Multispace in a car park and removed the ignition key, whereupon the wipers came on and wouldn’t stop
( they were in the switched off position and the ignition key was removed ) I tried switching them on and off, to no avail. They continued to go back and forwards with a mind of their own. I jumped out of the car and noticed that my headlights were also on ( yet they too were in the switched off position ).

I got back in the car and tried to start it, but it wouldn’t start.

I got out of the car again and tried to lock it, but the car wouldn’t lock.

In desperation I had to temporarily abandon my car in this car park in a dodgy park of town …. unlocked ….with its wipers going and headlights on … while I walked about 200 yards to a nearby business to get the local Citroen dealer’s phone number.

When I got back to my car about 10 minutes later …. The wipers had stopped scraping my dry windows, the headlights were now off . When I got in the car it started straight away.

I took it straight to my local Citroen dealer who carried out a diagnostic check, but found NOTHING wrong with it !!!
