replacement heating element Modern Maid built in toasterKBT100?

The heating (toasting) element on the left side of the toaster does not heat at all. Is there a place I can buy replacement elements? Or is there any place that sells a compairable product?

I, too, have a Modern Maid built-in toaster KBT-100. Many of us who still love this unique toaster, would like to be able to have them repaired. After some internet research, I found this article, which may help you determine whether you want to repair it yourself.

Otherwise, try calling a small appliance repair shop in your area to see whether they can help you.

You can easily remove the toaster from the installed location in your kitchen. My toaster unit is located on the end of a cabinet. My primary electrical plug is located inside the cabinet. Yours may be hard wired. In the interest of safety, I unplug the primary electrical plug first. If yours is hard wired, go on to the next step.

Pull the toaster drawer all the way out until it stops. Look on the sides of the toaster drawer. You should see two small rectangular shaped "buttons" on the sliders. These are release buttons. Push both slider release buttons down at the same time on both sides of the toaster, while carefully pulling the drawer out and away from the cabinet. (You might need a second pair of hands to accomplish this.) You should see an electrical plug located inside the toaster cabinet behind the drawer. After disconnecting this plug-in, you can remove the entire toaster drawer to take it to a repair shop.

Please post any follow-up repair information on this website.
