i've recently bought a dish washer but when washing the rcd trips please can you help an engineer from currys came but when he tryed a washing cycle nothing happened later on i tryed a wash it tripped again. please could you help
basically it sounds like you are overloading the kitchen circuit and the RCD is picking up an imbalance which will make it trip, when you use it unplug things you dont need and see if it helps, if you still have problems then unplug everything and start by putting them back on one by one till it trips that will help identify if it is overload or a faulty equipment depending on which electrical item trips the RCD on powering up. It is always best to look at the last thing you were doing before any problems started to help identify faults so if it is overload then i suggest either moving some items or get an electrician to look at the circuit and if it is possible to modify in any way.
mark the spark
one more thing, you do not say if it was a second hand machine, you must never buy a second hand electrical appliance unless it comes with a portable appliance certificate, this certifies its electrically safe for you to use it,its the law, caveat emphore,!(let the buyer beware)
you have a earth fault on your dish washer,it could be the heater or the circulating pump, you need to get it checked by a service engineer who will megger it to test the motor and heater insulation,do not use it till its checked,
how many things do you have pluged in at the same time ,on the socket line"?kettel/ micro/ ect. you could be over loading that socket line, with to0 many things running at the same time, i dont mean all pluged into the same socket, but on that socket line..
my rcd keeps triping?
