How can I get my internet to work better on my laptop?

1st what dongle, Not make or anything like that, Are you using a network dongle, or a stand alone 3g type dongle.
I will assume 3g. Might say good signal, I use to get it all the time. I now use an extension usb cable, to put the dongle away and higher than it was. I used to have dongle pluged directly to laptop. I use it in the car. problems. With the extension cable, I find by putting the dongle on the roof of my car, No problems. IT always told me good signal. But same as you, try to connect to anywhere. problems. SO depends on where you use it, An extension might help, out a window, or near to one. The place I was when connecting, is very bad for mobiles(miles from anywhere). I could face the car one way, ok turn 90 deg off bad. cannot see it being you browser. try an extension cable to put dongle somewhere else.
