oven won't come on!!!?

My SMEG oven is only 2 years old has only had light use ( live on own) and suddenly won't switch on. It did make a strange grating noise when I cooked by fan so switched fan off. Now not a flicker of anything. I have checked the obvious like fuse. Have looked at smeg engineer prices but they want over £100 just to come out. Very disappointed thought I was buying a good make but reading messages on this site seems smeg are very expensive but rubbish. Any help please.
