Goodmans TV?

I have a Goodmans 15" Box tv for five years, its excellent. Recently it buzzes when you are searching tv listings, and also, more worringly on the left hand top corner there are white dashes flickering across half of the screen. They are not always present, but more often than not.
I rely totally on this little box set as my LG Plasma refuses to come on at all!!!!
I believe that is the "blown capacitors" but have yet to get a soldering iron and screw driver to get the back off!!! Any help would be very much appreciated
