How can I fix a rear hinge on my HP All-in-One Printer?

How can I fix a rear hinge on my HP 6210 All-in-One Printer? Evidently, this is a common problem on these HP printers. HP does not sell replacement hinges and when you call customer support, they try to sell you an upgraded, new model. My printer is just a few years old. It's fairly obvious that HP designed these hinges to fail over time as the center, fulcrum point of the hinge has the adjoining pieces of plastic molded together in only about 20% of the surface area. It's like a car maker who doesn't sell replacement steering wheels and no others will fit, causing you the need to buy a whole new car. Help, please!

Have you tried to glue the parts together, Get the correct glue, it will more weld the parts together. Failing that, personally I would fabricate a part from aluminium, or some thing. Maybe you can, or know some one that could. If I had one of the printers, I could probably make a fortune fabricating the part. Unfortunately, my HP is just an A3 one
