Handbrake adjustment IH 785XL?

you can fit a new brake band in through the side of the gearbox. remove side plate. it is pretty awkward though. after new one fitted fit a switch to clutch pedal which is wired to a buzzer so it buzzs as soon as you touch the pedal when hand brake is on .new band will then last a long long time.

first does the handbrake lever come all the way up if so look below the lever through the handbrake slot you should see a threaded rod with a 13mm nut or nut and lock nut wind the nut down the thread until the lever will only come up 6-8 clicks you should now have a functioning handbrake-- If the lever comes up solid with no braking effect then the hand brake band inside the transmission needs replacing
