Why does my Dimplex duo 500i make a ticking noise?

When the Dimplex duo 500i is switched on there is a loud ticking noise accompanied by the Led display panel flashing in time. Does anyone know how to fix this??

yes inside left hand side right at the top,there are 2 screws on the inner top which holds a plate with the cutout and charge controller attached

Toptrish thats brilliant thanks so much for your help. I dont suppose you know where the reset button is on a 400n do you these heaters are testing my patience ha ha?
