My DeWalt DC988 is smoking at low speed?
My DC988 smokes from the brush area at low speed under no load. When the trigger is fully depressed it operates normally. Is this a motor issue, like a crack in the armature for example, or is it just the brushes? It has been happening for a while but seems OK if I just 'rev it up' a bit.
