how can i get my flamerite fire YCT-100 working?

I have recently moved house and there was an electric fire already in place YCT-100. The previous owners left no instructions for it. I have put new batteries in the remote but still cant figure out how to turn the thing on! Is there a hidden switch somewhere that i dont know about? Have looked but cant find anything.

Turn your fire off on your the fire itself then turn the fire off on the mains socket. Open the remote control, lift up the motherboard make sure the battery stays in place. Turn the motherboard over, slide the black switch to the left pause for 10 seconds then slide to the right for 10 seconds then slide just one click over to the left. Carefully replace the motherboard. Keeping battery in place. If battery comes out then start again as it breaks the sequence. Turn the fire back on at the mains and on the fire it self. I waited 20 mins. Then it worked.
It took me two attempts to get it right but it does work. I got this I info from another sight. Good luck x

had the same problem, you need to physically unplug the fire to reset it. Then it should work, flame to switch it on O/I to put heat on I/II higher heat

Hi

Exactly the same situation as you - there is a dial on the back of the remote, turn this one click and press the 'flame' button, it should turn on if you have the correct frequency (the switch is a frequency selector).

Sometimes the fire can 'crash' as in stop responding (usually when you press the 'I/II' button on the remote) in this case, you will need to power off the fire and power it on again to get it to respond (the big red switch at the top side). The light under that is the 'heater on' light (from what I can gather).

If your fire stops responding when you press the I/II button then it may need some repair/maintenance. I have this issue and am looking for solutions to it at the moment (which is why I saw your post)

Anyway, hope this helps.

Regards

Ian
