How can I fix my hitachi battery charger 14,4v type uc 14sd?

When I dock the battery into the charger for my Hitachi drill, the glass tube fuse inside the base charger blows. I've checked that the fuses that I'm using are the correct rating. Any suggestions would be most appreciative.

Have you considered that the charger might be working fine and that the problem might be with the battery?

That the battery is very defective and causing the fuse in the charger to pop?
