How can I remove ceramic base from kitchen exhaust fan?

I have a Broan elite Model E66 kitchen exhaust fan. One of the GU 10 halogen bulbs needed replacement. I couldn't turn the stuck halogen GU 10, so used duct tape as suggested on another site. I pushed the bulb up and turned it. The glass part of the bulb broke off from the white base, with only one thin wire on the glass, and the other must be in the base. The area is too small to use a pliers. Two questions please. 1. Will turning on the lights (the other one still works) cause a fire? 2. How do I get the white base out of the socket? MUCH THANKS!!!!!

Thank you so much, Peccavi, for an answer that makes sense and one that I can use. I asked a serious question, and don't know what mm 's problem is, but he shouldn't even be allowed to contribute. His angry answers take away the credibility of the site. I am an amateur and that is why I am asking. If I knew the answer, I would not have posted my question.

If you use Google and select images and enter GU10 Base you can see pictures of the base fittings with wires - you can buy a new ceramic base (Amazon £0.70) with wires and fit it yourself - to replace the one that seems to be damaged.

You might turn the power off and try to manipulate the broken part away from the base - having seen on Google how they fit together.

The lights will be wired in series - there is no chance of a fire - if the broken socket presents any sort of problem the fuse will pop as a safety precaution - fire is an impossible outcome.
