How to remove the swivel handle on a flick mixer tap?

We have turned the water off, completely as well as partially removed the grub screw, but we still can't get the handle off. It swivels just fine, but wont lift off?? It seems like it is stuck to the cartridge right on top in the centre... Can some one please help with some ideas please? Thank you in advance :)
