dem10 ?

My dem10 is now on constantly collecting water and the switch hasn't been altered. Also I can't seem to separate it from the top to take it apart. Any ideas and how many screws altogether please. Thanks in advance

Hi - It sounds as though the humidistat has conked?
The DEM 10 is a stunningly bad piece of design as regards assembly... there are 2 screws in the sides at the bottom, 2 screws in the centre of the back, 2 screws in the top under the handle that hold the stat. assembly down, then lift the handle slightly, and look under the handle towards the front of the machine, there are 2 screws into the front casing just ahead of the handle hinges that hold the front casing on.
The previous will allow the back to come off (don't forget to bung the outlet pipe, or you'll get wet...).
Once the back is off, there are a further 2 screws, one either side in the black 'body', about halfway down at the front that also hold the front casing on. A long screwdriver is useful for these.
The stat. assembly is a sliding fit on the top of the front casing, and can be wiggled off backwards to allow easier access.
Hope this helps - good luck.

Is that not the purpose of a dehumidifier - to collect water?

Good luck...
