JVC HR-S4700U, will not turn on, ?

When I get 6 inches from the VCR my circuit tester goes off, the VCR will not tur on. It has not been in use for years, yet when I put it away it worked.

Well it's not working now... Likely a capacitor in the Power Supply - electrolytic capacitors are prone to fail with the passage of time - they can leak and split open. Use Google - Images Enter Electrolytic Capacitor Failure Donate it to a museum February 2015

How to unlock a VHS tape?

I have this really cool JVC, DR-M79B DVD video recorder. and I own a bunch of old VHS tapes and I just want to use this neat Dubbing feature that will convert my tape to a 1080P format, but it stops the dubbing process because the tape have a copy rite restriction......

VHS Tape Player has intermitant problem / static ? ?

Have 2 JVC tape players: both have static every 5 seconds when playing back. Seems to be random, we changed the belt, cleaned the head many times, changed tapes many times. Both have same problem. Just wondering if there is any way to repair it ? Is it needing Demagnetizing? How? thanks....

How can I get my VCR to eject a tape?

There is a video cassette stuck in my VCR. It is a JVC VHS Hi-Fi, Model # HR-J692U). WHat happens is that when I press the eject button, the cassette rises up vertically, so that I could almost grasp it, but then, instead of ejecting, it just goes back down....
