One not very pleased man your statement that the nut on the pulley is left hand threaded is not correct it is normal standard right hand thread this statement has caused me lots of time and some amount of money

it could be a bearing on the motor. If you take off the belt and turn the motor by hand. If it doesn't turn smoothly you might have to strip the motor down and change it. It saved me new a new motor

Please note that the thread is NOT "left handed" on the nut and belt pulley on the rear of the drum. It is the standard right hand thread and the pulley is also threaded.

hi gazza, it sounds lik the bearings are gone or some thing stuck in the outer drum, try putting this machine on spin only with nothing in it if the noise is still there its bearings, they cost about ÂŁ16.50p a set and there are two bearings and a seal
to relpace them its hard work, it could also be the moter bearings as this also sounds much like main bearings gone when they go, try lifting the drum if theres lift in it its the main bearings pull the machine out (un plug it) take off the lid (three philips at the back) drop off the drive belt and spin the drum, if it rumdels chang bearings? can you do this??? if so!
there are four philips in the powder hopper, wip them out, lift it and slid it to the right to romove it but dont pull it right off coz of the whires on the switches, (x4) open the door, at the top there is a little box with a spring clip in it, its the door seal clamp, unhook it and pull the rubber seal out the door pushing it inside the machine, then there are 6 philips holding the frunt on 3 at the top 3 at the bottom, dont pull it right off as again there are whires for the door switch there, very short ones!
theres a strut across the frunt held on by 4 philips , take this off, then theres a big plastick drum, with bent hooks holding it on! take them all off, even the ones under the black box at the very bottom, (the heater) then pull the lot out the frunt,
watch the short whires again! now if its some thing inside the drum you could get it out! yer right! look at the back of the machine theres a blanking plate 1 philips inside thes is a big nut holding on the pully, its tight! and with a left hand thred, undo this, also undo the pully also tight, left hand thred, now, with a copper hammer beet out the drum, and i mean beet!!!!!!
by hitting the end of the shaft very hard!!! it will come out but its tight, finaly when its out,!!! beet out both bearings and one seal, the one at the back of the machine is best beeten out from inside the drum first, then the seal will come out with the frunt bearing, clean the bearing holders with wire wool grees the bearings with white grees, they have covers on both bearings but with cear you can lift them out to get some grees in them as there nearly dry when new? now beet them back in tight, but DONT HIT ON THE INSIDE OF THE BEARINGS, only the outer rings, finly brive home the seal and grees it well, clean the seal ring on the drum shaft with wire wool as well and grees that too, then put it all back to gether, i did mine in two hours flat, and my palls in one hour! getting good at it now!!! try not to leave bit out, there should be no bit left over when you have finished the job?? only 2 bearings and 1 seal, both old ones "A" the door seal is a pain to get back in but its not to hard, oh, by the way, it took me five swings with a 7lb sleg hammer and a steel drift to get my old bearings to move, they were tighter than a ducks a**s but they come out, went in easer, but make the go right home, or the seal will pop out on you, this seal must fit fluch with the bearing holder, and have the flat side facing the frunt of the washer drum, or it will leak like a sive, good luck, but if your not motervated in this way? go out to the shops and get a new one? but its a lot more than ÂŁ16.50p
