Water tank low light on?

The descale light came on so we emptied and rinsed till water ran clear. Switched iron on and all seemed okay then the low water level light came on despite tank being full. No steam coming through but iron heats up. Can anyone help? The iron is a Morphy Richards Power Steam elite.
